Chocolate Chip Cookie

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup butter, room temp
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar 
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3.25 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips, semisweet

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Mix in eggs, vanilla, and maple syrup.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the dry mixture to the butter bowl and combine.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Cover bowl and refrigerate for 30min.
  6. Preheat oven to 350 deg F.
  7. Scoop 2 tbs of cookie dough and make flattened balls on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 13-17min or until edges are golden brown. Cool and store.

Thoughts
Oddly crumbly cookies, they were very butter heavy and not super chewy. And they didn’t flatten too much while cooking. Maybe the sugar was cut down too much.
