INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tbs baking powder
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 tbs butter, frozen
  • 3/4 cup milk

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 425 deg F.
  2. Large bowl: combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Grate butter into flour and combine until mixture is has coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in milk until just combined.
  5. On a nonstick sheet, work dough together, use more flour if needed. Fold dough in half over itself and flatten layers together by hand. Rotate dough 90 deg, and fold in half again. Repeat 5-6 times but do not overwork the dough.
  6. Use hands to flatten dough to 1″ thickness. Cut out 2.75″ biscuits. Reshape dough as needed.
  7. Bake for 12min or until tops are lightly golden brown.

Thoughts
Delicious biscuits, top with butter / jam when warm and enjoy. Fast to whip together too. I only had a 3″ cup to cut the biscuits and just made 6 of them. They baked for 14min, could probably have done up to 18min for a more done center.
