Bacon wrapped brussels sprouts

INGREDIENTS

  • 24 Brussels sprouts
  • 12 slices bacon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • Cayenne

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400 deg F.
  2. Trim ends of brussels sprouts
  3. Whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, cayenne.
  4. Cut bacon in half and brush with maple syrup mixture.
  5. Wrap each brussels sprout with a strip of bacon and place seam side down on baking sheet.
  6. Brush the tops of the sprouts with the maple syrup mixture.
  7. Bake until bacon is crispy, ~20min. 

Thoughts
I baked the brussels sprouts separately for 15min to soften them before adding the bacon. It ended up not super crispy or caramelized, maybe next time I’d use thinner bacon slices.
