INGREDIENTS
Broccoli
ginger, sliced
rice wine
dark soy sauce
sesame oil
garlic, sliced
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Chop broccoli heads into bite sized florets.
2. Slice garlic and ginger.
3. In the pan, add the rice wine and dark soy sauce in a 2:3 raio. Add a dash of sesame oil. Then add enough water to double the amount of liquid.
4. Heat up the pan and add the broccoli and sliced ginger, lightly toss to coat all florets.
5. Cover the pan, set the heat to medium, and set the timer for 3min.
6. Add in the garlic and more water as necessary. Cover and set the timer for 2min or until the desired broccoli softness is met.
Thoughts
This was a tasty alternative to roasting broccoli. It’s important to make sure there is enough liquid to steam the broccoli so it doesn’t burn. If there’s too much liquid, just remove the lid and allow the excess to burn off.
With 2 broccoli crowns, I used ~6-8 garlic cloves and 1″ piece of ginger.
